but I will always try to make a decision that comes down on the side of giving my money back to America. When everyone starts believing that is a fantasy we'll be in trouble.

Well, maybe my choice of words was poor. The fantasy is that because you are choosing an American company that your money is somehow staying in America. That is a fantasy whether you wish to believe it or not. JD gets parts from all over and trying to determine exactly where your money is going is simply not possible. And if you think that just because it is a Deere, or a Ford or whatever, that the money stays home, well, think again. At best that money is going to shareholders. Do you know who the shareholders are?

At least with a product made here in the US, like some Kubotas, many Nissans, Toyotas and BMWs, then you know that some of that money is staying here because it is going into the pockets of American workers.

So I wasn't suggesting you did anything wrong or that we all join the communist party, I'm just saying that assuming the money you spend on a green or a blue tractor is primarily going to benefit the US economy is a pipe dream. So I don't consider it.

And it isn't like Chinese and Indian products are forced on this country. Both major political parties, presumably reflecting the wishes of their constituents, are very much for the open global markets. If that is a bad thing, we are all responsible.

I bought my JD790 at Palmetto L&L in Lexington. Very easy to deal with and were respectful of my needs. I went there on the recomendation of a workmate. I did find out later that I could buy parts about 15% cheaper at Derrick Equipment in Ridge Spring or Aiken. I shelled out the front wheel drive on my tractor and the service manager at the Aiken store really took good care of me. Gizmo, let me know the next time you are coming to Ridge Spring and I'll let you buy me a hamburger. I don't know the difference in Kubota and JD but see lots of both. I know I have worked and abused the fire out of my little 790 and it has really performed. I do wish I had went with more horsepower so I could tear up more stuff.
