There are many videos and still pictures available on the attached links that may help to illustrate the magnitude of damage caused by the storm. Most of the area south of Jackson and west of I-55 over to Alabama is still without power and many water systems were contaminated.
I'm posting these links because I'm familiar with some of the area newspapers and television stations that have information available. Although I live in Monroe, LA now I'm a transplanted Mississippian and am not familiar with the media in south Louisiana that may have info.
I've also attached a picture of my houseboat located on the West Pascagoula River about 15 miles north of Pascagoula as the crow flies. It's unbelieveable but it suffered absolutely no damage through the storm. Many others were damaged or destroyed.
The Jackson, MS NBC TV station has some excellent information and links.
The Biloxi Sun-Herald newspaper has some articles and pictures.
Hattiesburg American newspaper has some also. Hattiesburg is located about an hours drive north of Gulfport on US 49.
