I have a slope that must be mowed across that I slide half off the uphill side to keep wheels on the ground. Has anyone put a spacer on a lawn tractor's wheels to widen it for stability? I have a John Deere 110, which is not a big tractor. Would loading the tires be possible?

There are specs both from Deere and the transaxle manufacturer on allowable load weight available. Not sure w/o digging, but they aren't very much. More aggressive tire tread help?

It is just the tip over factor that worries me.

While not a 110, this guy put on dualies :) He sells aluminum wheel spacers from 1" up so could give him a call and see what he says. Local dealer should be able to help also.

My dad had tractor type tires on the rear and wheel weights on his 110.

When I had my JD lawn tractor I filled the tires, 99% filled. I also have hills that I need to mow across. This improved traction and stability. It will reduce the life expectance of the trans-axle. I had to replace mine after 11 years which I considered fair
