Spacing of T posts for Horse pasture?

Here is a usefull link on how to build a brace with good pictures. One thing to note is that on a corner brace the brace wire should come from the bottom of the corner post to the top of the next brace post. Your want the wire to be pulling the wooden or metal H toward the corner post. They and I have used the ratchet wire strainer to tighten up the brace wire instead of a stick.
Hope this helps. Rick

good post. easier then describing it.

plenty of ways to wind the wire.. .. whatever works.. works.

good luck!

ps.. on wire runs that are hard to see.. remember to put the flags up if holding in horses...

The white flags blowing in a breeze also can act to keep deer from crashing thru the wire fence.

and if turning horses out into a pasture with new wire fencing in it.. turn them out in the morning so they hav ethe entire day in daylight to learn the new boundry... thus they will be less likely to run into it at night

We hose down their chests and walk them into the electric wire the first time. Once is more than enough for them. This may seem cruel but I have seen tendons cut by electric wire wrapped around a horses pastern. Horses with cut tendons suffer for a lifetime.

.............they are a handful when they hit the fence. We were using nylon white electrified tape first time around. It snowed the same day we turned them out. They couldn't see the white tape because of the snow. And it did take us a while to find them.

Equines will push you if you let them. I don't consider them dangerous but they will out you in a hospital in a second if you don't know your way around them.

spacing depends on terrain, dips and hills require posts regardless of distance, I have used 50 ft spacing with 4 wire high tensile, Stong well braced coreners are the key the t post just maintain spacing/height.
