Over the last few days I have noticed an inordinate number of spam postings dealing with Louis Vuitton and Coach outlets in the General Lawn and Garden forum.

The posters use a series of random letters as their member names and their tractor types.

Are the offenders using some sort of software to automatically generate these posts?

I have been reporting the posts, but is there a feasible way to get rid of this problem in the first place?

I keep finding Viagra links and spam posts in italian or spanish or something in the Yanmar forum! There was a post a month or so ago on the increase spaming. Muhhamad said it was due to the new software loading and now there getting in or trying harder with this version?

Thand you, and please do keep reporting them by using the little triangle in the lower left corner of the post. The moderators will remove them as soon as possible, and your assistance is appreciated.

This has been happening quite a lot throughout the forum threads.

The only commonality I have seen is that they come from a brand new member account from overseas. The happen around the same time of day (their business hours i'm sure).

I thought new accounts had to be approved before posting was allowed- could be mistaken. Has to be tough on a popular site that gets lots of new member requests.

Just keep flagging

No, we don't approve new accounts. There are too many! We have a system that checks all new registrations against known spammer databases and approves/denies registration based on that. Approximately 50% of all registrations are denied due to matches with spammer databases. A few slip through the cracks.

I probably confused that with another forum I am on- much smaller obviously than TBN. Still, an daunting task to manage all of this stuff. Thanks to you and all the people that keep TBN up and running.
