mfreund- Thanks for getting up and checking your wiring. I will go ahead and pick up a good light and hook it up to the rear spares. Very convenient.

Thanks all for your ideas. Still trying to figure out location and bracket.

I'm thinking that Peterson Mfg. makes a rectangular light similar to the rear work light.

We have a new TSC that I'll check out.

I'm also thinking of what I can connect to the red wire by the clutch.

No one mentioned anything about the spare plug on the right rear.

Fuse f5 protects 562c red wire. Should be a 20a fuse left side 2nd one down. The purple and black on the right side are for the right work light. You should be able to connect with bullet connectors and mount. The light switch should control it

Thanks for letting me help, Now I know how to hook mine up also. The light have been setting in my shed for a year. I never use the lights in the summer and it is too cold to work on it in the winter!!

Can't you just get the lights and brackets from JD still, they can be turned forward.

From reviewing the thread I linked to, I believe I found out that plug on the back is for a back-up alarm.

Thanks, do you know what that red wire is for? and what else is on that f5 circuit?

I have Peterson 4x6 lights that I got from Northern tool for my front and rear work lights. My side lights are the JD rear worklights I originally had located on the ROPS per factory instructions.

You can see the Peterson lights on my 4200 at: Picasa Web Albums - Matt - Lights, Camer...

I think deere put it there for a easy way to get 12v, because it shows nothing hooked to it on diagram. As for fuse f5. It would take lots of time to track all possible connections. Yes there is something on the circuit besides the lead. The circuit 562 red starts at 562a red and changes at each connection as it goes down the alphabet. I found connection all the way down to 562p red. It seems to be a major feed of 12v to the switches. I am not sure if all go back to f5 fuse. I would guess it does.

OK thanks, if there's other things on that circuit I'd be reluctant to run a dc outlet off that wire.
I ran mine off a light circuit, forget which one but it uses a piggyback fuse thingamajig where it doesn't over load the existing fuse but splits the socket through 2 fuses.

I added two floodlights and one spotlight to the front and rear of the Curtis Fiberglass top bolted to the rollbar. These lights were in addition to the two factory work lights bolted on the rollbar's. The current draw of these lights required the use of a relay and establishing a new circuit from the battery. It made a huge difference when out snowblowing after dark. Prior to these six extra lights I had added just two floodlights one on the rear and one on the front and was able to use power from the factory floodlight circuit.

Here's what I ended up doing.

Added a rectangular Peterson's Mfg. light to the brush/grill guard.

It took about 10' of cable to reach the rear spare terminals. Wire tied cable to existing wiring harness.

Covers the area ahead when plow is up.

Light comes on third position on switch on the 4310.

This was too easy. Still thinking about what to hook up to the hot lead by the clutch pedal.

Looks good, I wonder if that red wire may of been for hydros like mine with brakes on that side, to be used for optional brake lights.

It's kinda odd, an always hot wire being out of the harness like that.

I have a HST on my 4200 and a red wire hanging loose too. One of these days I'll get curious enough to check my shop manual as to what it's for.
