Speader for grass seed?

I would use the spreader.. besides.. it is a good excuse to use the tractor..
Seriously... I hand seeded with those 'lawn spreader' seeders my 3.1 acres... me and my wife had a seeder each, and walked up and down strips in that yard..... went out and bought a 3pt seeder the next week...
Tractor supply sells the usualy heavy duty ones for about 360$, and a lighter duty one for 260$.. that has a flexible pto... fairly nice... also an electric one for like 229$.. ( didn't like the look of it.. )
Here in florida, we usually put down 30 - 50 pounds of seed per acre.. and 200-400 pounds of fertalizer per acre. Lime can be added at about 300 lbs per acre.. if needed.

I need to seed grass over approximately 1 acre. Own a Landpride landscape rake w/wheels and am wondering if I could use this to prepare the topsoil before seeding or should I purchase a tine harrow to do the job? My property is nearly 6 acres and perhaps could get more use out of the tine harrow in the long run. Any comments based on your experience? Will the landscapre rake create smoothing problems later? Thanks

If you have very good topsoil maybe. I would do everything in my power to find a good pulverizer and do it w/that and use your rake to remove the rocks and weeds then go back over again w/the pulverizer.
