Huh?
Not sure i follow you....I can't imagine the gear casing not being designed oil-tight - maybe not water-tight....
Anyone else getting contaminated front end gear oil this frequently??

I don't know how your front end is designed, my comments are only related the front axle on my 1110. I know that when I got my tractor the front axle was very low on oil and what remained was mostly water. When I tore the axle down, I could see that water was getting in the top of the axle where the steering arm is. The water could sit on top of the axle until it could seep in. This was evidenced by the shaft being rusty and the upper bearing being in very poor condition. When I put my axle back together, I made a point of carefully resealing it. Especially the oversized knuckle seal. Bearings and water don't mix. If you want to make excuses that it's only a tractor, then don't be disapointed when your tractor only becomes a piece of junk. Ask Gbirky. The guy he bought his tractor from had the same opinion.

I think I'd solder or braze it up then polish down before I used a glue on it.

I imagine a good silver solder will hold up better than any goop.. and brass will be even better.

Brazing would be the best more than likely or that is defiantly what I would prefer.
