Spike Aerator

I would like to purchase a spike aerator so pull behind my MF 1250 tractor. I have found a couple but one issue would be moving it from point A to point B and not having the spikes engaged.

Are there any what have a system that I can attach some wheels to so that it is raised off the ground while it is being moved from Point A to Point B?

Just for the record, I intend to use it to aerate some areas that have heavily compacted soil with the hopes that if I can get some water and nutrients down below the surface I can get some grass to grow.

Mine is a Frontier 6' CA2072 that is 3 point mounted. I made a couple of weights with from plywood forms and sackcrete that fit in the top tray. I had some u shaped pipe from an old round bale feeder that I cut off and cast into the top of them so I can take the weights off with pallet forks if desired.

Works well digs good plugs and I used it on my pastures and lawn each year.

There are other brands that make similar ones that are 3 point mounted. The only reason I bought this particular one is because it sat on a local John Deere dealers lot for several years, never moved. I stopped in one day and asked did they intend to sell it or did they just like to mow around it.

I had a TORO 3ph unit. Must have weighed two thousands pounds! The stones areound here were quickly destroying the scoop type tips, so I sold it.
