I would not recommend wax. I use a product called "Perma Plate Paintguard". It is basically a rub on clear coat product (like what the manufacturer uses on a new car). The product is made to renew the clear coat on a car. However, for paint that does not have clear coat, it will actually create a very thin layer of it.
The product applies like wax except no buffing required. You simply wipe the product on with a damp cloth, wait to dry and wipe off with a dry towel. Do this twice the first time and once a year and your tractor will look new for a long as you have it. It also makes it easier to wash as dirt never contacts the paint directly.
I bought a couple bottles 7 years ago and still have some left (I use it on my cars and tractor).
