Mark- your comment of "open center" control valve got me thinking. When I look at the valve that came with the loader, it was intended to be run off a dedicated hydraulic pump. The pump supplied the valve and then the oil returned to the tank. I'm certain that this valve does not have a "power beyond" capability, but I don't know exactly what a "open center" valve is. Why wouldn't I need a power beyond valve?

Guess it's a mute point now. I cleaned off the lable on the pump and found that it displaces 3 cc per revolution. That cross references to .183 cuin/rev or .000792 gal per rev. Assuming the pump turns 1:1 that would give me a max rpm of 2600. This equates to...2 gallons per minute. That looks about right. So I have 2"x26" lift cylinders. Using a on-line hydraulic calculator I have a 38 second lift cycle speed. I'm thinking a external hydraulic pump might be in order here.

It would be cheaper to buy 1" cylinders than an external pump. Even one 1" cylinder can lift more than you tractor will ever be able to handle let alone 2. Also the 1" cylinders are much lighter than the 2" and if you want to pick 100 lbs with the bucket you will need to keep the total loader weight less than 200 lbs. Dropping to one cylinder on the bucket will help with weight also.
Open center is what you need and a power beyond for your application is not needed. Your valve will be in series with the constant flow and divert it to the cylinders when you activate it.

Any one know of an online source for metric to standard hydraulic fittings and adapters. My tractor has a 14mm 1.5 pitch thread that I would like to splice with a #6 line T
