Nearly 4 years I've tried to get Mrs. Texas Al to learn to brush hog a little, every now and then. Since she got the ducks, and I've been building the duck house for the last 3 weekends, she decided she wanted to brushhog yesterday.

She forgot to look up as she was mowing under a tree. The results are attached.

It's called a battle scar. We all have them and all will continue to get them. Everytime you go out to the tractor and see the busted up canopy you can laugh some?? My existing battle scar is on the garage door right now. It is going to be about $325.00 to fix it. I was backing into the garage a few weeks back and for some reason the door started going down. I was looking down at the ground looking for the dog to make sure I wasn't running her over and the door came down and caught my ROPS. Oh and by the way, Spousal Abuse is when they take the tractor away from you and make you go do dishes or somthing like that. They will steal your seat time, make sure you don't get any seat time at all. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This story reminds me of the time my wife used to bug me about "doing the wash".
So I washed her new wool sweater using hot water and then tossed it into the drier. She never bugs me about "doing the wash" anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It is but for the grace of God I've not done some major damage with my tractor. I've knicked door frames twice with the loader bucket and once with a rear tire but avoided any real or permanent damage thus far. Please understand that I know I'll damage something severly soon enough. It's not a matter of "If" but only of "When" I do it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was mowing on uneven ground alongside my open RV trailer awning. The tractor tipped towards the awning and...well you can figure out the rest. The ROPS ripped about 12" of the awning before i could finally wiggle away from the trailer. I wacked the garage door frame of my new barn twice already. Not bad for my first year, eh?!!

And I have been wanting a canopy... I really can't sow you'd NOT do what she did, cutting grass, you are looking out for obstacles on the ground, not up top....

I guess if that had been metal, it would be crumpled, or she''d have been looking up in a hurry.

BTW, I hope Mrs Texas Al is OK

First time the wife decided to use the tractor to scrape out the paddocks (while I was out of town,of course) she forgot about the loader bucket out front and put a 4 foot slice through the barn wall. It didn't hurt the tractor but sure got her attention. She hasn't touched it for a year until this weekend when I was gone again. she had to call me to firgure out how to starts it but all went well.

But I backed under a tree limb and bent my canopy myself. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif That was one reason I prefer the steel canopies. They can get bent and straightened instead of breaking. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
