BX fill lid is beside the seat behind the hold bar (hold on to keep from falling off or grab hold of to pull yourself up to the seat). The hold bar is just high enough to keep from laying the hole/opening of the plastic 5 gallon fuel container in the fuel hole. I've got several different screw on spouts, filler release ids, etc for my several different plastic 5 gal containers. When I find one cheap enough at a yard sale red or yellow I buy them. Got enough now but cheap enough I don't know if I can resist.
Anyway, one of the spouts is the kind that screws on to the pour hole of the 5 gal plastic container and the tip pushes in to stop flow and pulls out to let it flow. I hadn't gotten it screwed on tight and when I lifted the 5 gal containe rof fuel over the hold bar and into the fill hole I pushed the container to hard and the spout came off and into the hole.
I'm not concerned that it will melt or damage the tractor but will make another attempt or two to get it out. The flex thing I bought with the tips is to short to reach the far side of the tank where the tip is probably laying. I'll wait till I get down to about a half a tank of fuel then park my tractor on the side of a hill and see if it will float down to the lid side. May try the mirror deal if I can't see it and try the flex claws to get it out. Looks to be a common problem and as many have advised in this thread "I should have done things different and it never would have happened."
Appreciate everyones advise on how to get it out since it's already in there more than the advise of how not to do it again.:laughing:
