I've found that if I run at rated PTO speed the blower has yet to plug up.

Silicone spray I know incredibly well, but what's pam?

I'm only equipped with a shovel at the moment.... next year will be different.. :D

Fully agree - that's been my experience, too. It's all about getting the blower blades spinning up to speed.

We can get some very heavy and wet snow, but I've never had to resort to spraying my snow blower with anything except some touch-up paint in the Spring. :rolleyes:

I have used spray on graphite too. You have to apply it when it is relatively warm though.

The beauty of Pam is that your chicken wings won't stick to the blower either.

guess we need to start a thread on the wonders of PAM. My wife uses it on all the door hinges and door locks in our house. Works great for that. Never tried it on my plow (sorry, I'm blower challenged)

I think maybe I'll have to suggest to my wife that PAM may help keep the snow from sticking on the shovel.

I'm usually busy with the very important, guy required tractor work - so out of the goodness of my heart, I let her take care of the manual part of snow removal.

It gives her a sense of purpose...or something like that....

:rolleyes::D

I know that around here commercial coal truck drivers in the winter coat the beds of their trucks with kerosene or diesel. (They also do this with sand and gravel,some even use a vibrator.) This will help prevent the coal from sticking in the beds. When coal sticks in the bed, a truck can upset pretty easily. I could be wrong but if you were to coat your blades with diesel or kerosene,it may do just as good.

Be sure to add the obvious disclaimer that there are limits to when kerosene/diesel can be substituted for PAM. ;)

Did we just step back into the '40's? Where in the heck do they have commercial coal trucks?
