Sprayer Plans

Im gonna try and put together my own spray rig since the one I need retails for around $1100.00. So far Ive got lined up a Hypro 6500C PTO pump for $100.00, a TeeJet Boom Control for $70.00, a 110 gallon tank for $130.00, and I found an old heavey duty spray rig frame with the booms still attached for $100.00. I will be spraying mostly 24D and grazon with some roundup mixed in during deer season. Will I need an agitator or is there any thing else that I am missing. Any advice will be appreciated.

Seems the agitation will happen with the return line coming back from the pressure control after the pump. Adjusting the psi from the pump to cut it back to what you want at the boom nozzles, will mean some of the mix will return to the spayer. That is what I use, along with the sloshing around while transporting the tank, to mix and 'agitate' the solution.
On my small 30 gal sparyer with 12 v pump, I just have a valve in the return line that I set to the pressure I want.

How big of boom and how many acres are you going to be spraying?

I have a 20' boom and using "average" nozzles and 30psi I can empty my 125 gallon tank on 11 acres. If you are spraying small stuff it works great, but I wish I would have gone with a 250 gallon tank. It gets old mixing and refilling alot when I am spraying larger areas.

On your bypass back to tank you can use a tee with length of perforated plastic hose forming a circle that fits the bottom of your tank. Connect each end of perf hose and bypass to tee .
