Does anyone have a recomendation for a sprayer for the back of my Polaris Ranger?

I have a remote part of my proprety I want to seed this spring, and I'll need to water regularly. I think I want something with a 12volt pump and plenty of capacity, at least 30 gallons.

Any suggestions? I also have a tractor and could buy a 3pt hitch sprayer, but the site is hilly, and I'm more secure getting there in the Ranger than the tractor.

I use a 15 gallon with a 12 volt motor, purchased from Northern Tool. It works well, straps on with a couple of tie downs and will eventually plug into my ATV's 12V supply plug out the back. I just got a Suzuki Quad Runner with a large rack on back where the 15 gallon fits great, I don't think the 30 will. Get all the pump GPM you can get. I did change out the hose for a longer one.

What about a 55gal drum and a bilge pump? I used one in a small trailer to water trees. Maybe a T fitting to 5' of pipe with some holes? 20 gal of water thru a sprayer will take a long time. How far from a source of water?

Thanks for the advice.

Source of water is a couple hundred yards away. I think I might try to assemble something with the parts at Northern Tool. I'd like to have a package I can pull out of the bed quickly, and in one piece. Similar to the skid packages. It would be a good excuse to get my tractor fitted with forks.

Thanks again,

John

I purchased a 25 gal. sprayer from Tractor Supply. It works great. Just be careful with that extra weight on the back as it tends to make the front end light.

25 gal sprayer is also too much weight for some ATV racks - check your rack ratings first and then figure appx. 8lbs/gal to determine which is right for you

On my 05 Ranger there are 4 holes in the bed near the 4 corners. I put 1/4 x 4 eyebolts in these holes and use them as tiedowns. They hold my 15 gal sprayer down using 2 tiedown straps.

I agree with Panache. I have a 30 gal with 12 volt pump and it takes a long time to really soak anything big. I just use it for small annuals planted around the property.
