Spraying weeds

Its time to start spraying spring weeds in pastures and hay fields down here in central Texas. I usually spray another time in June after the first cutting for summer weeds. Spring green up is beautiful. Too bad summer is right after.

Good sprayer set up, wish I had one like it. I see you aren't wearing a respirator, you have no concerns there?

By no means a safety nut, but I like to wear a filter when spraying poison in an open cab tractor, especially if spraying 24-D.

Large volume of water + high dollar ceramic nozzles designed to make big droplets + spraying low to the ground + using surfactant + low wind speeds = minimal drift. I honestly couldn't smell any chemicals until I walked through the field afterwards looking for something I dropped.

Plus my lungs are immune to chemicals from all the ones I breathed in when I was in the Navy on a submarine.

Can you tell us more about the sprayer? Boom width, brand,etc.

Nice rig. Whats in the tank? I'm thinking augmented 2-4D? If so what are you augmenting with?

The sprayer is model AG-MEIER IND. Heavy Duty 3-Point Hitch Sprayer found at 3 Point Hitch Sprayers

The video is really recordings of two different tanks and chemicals. 2,4-D and surfactant on wwb-dahl bluestem pasture and Grazon HL and surfactant on Jiggs bermuda hay fiels. The clip of me pouring chemicals is Grazon and surfactant.

What are you paying a gal for Grazon? We have horses and were thinking about switching to Grazon.

I paid about $50 for two gallons of Grazon Next.

Proof that over spray is not an issue but my driving is also off a little.
