Spreader for Rock chip with a BX2380

I am purchasing a BX2380 for snow removal and winter road care. The implements will be:

1) Quick Hitch 4 Point Manual / K-Connect Module
2) BX2812 60 In Heavy Duty Blade
3) BX2814 60 In Sweeper
4) Land Pride RTR0550 (for summer use in the yard, of course) with Quick Hitch

I am contemplating getting a VS220 Spreader for 1/4" rock chips for when we get freezing rain (10 days last year, one day was -17C and raining!) Does
anyone have experience with spreading chip, and would this be a good setup?

No experience with rock chips, but do yourself a favor and do not buy RTR0550. Buy the RTR1250 instead. I've posted this before. My brother bought the 0550 and I had the 1260 on my L3800, but now have the 1250 on my BX2380. No comparison at all between the 0550 and the 1250. The 0550 will break shear pins repeatedly and won't get very deep due to the shorter tines. The 1250 is a beast that I get a lot of use out of with no issues whatsoever.

My brother and I were going some tilling on his food plot and the idea was to go side by side, but staggered a little. He kept breaking pins and took forever trying to fix it to run it again. I don't think he made it 100 ft in 4 tries. More pain that it is worth. I did the 2 acres myself and all tilling since then.

Changed to the RTR1250. It was actually cheaper!

Cheaper? It's an infinitely better machine with much heavier construction. Man, you got yourself the deal of the century. Congrats!
