( however some of us were working our way through college and could not afford the time off and worked more than the 40 hours a week when we had the free time, that or caught up our sleep. )

Dave,

You and I must have gone to the same school! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My spring break meant working full time at my part time job during the break. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

However, it also meant that it was probably the first chance of the season to get out and chase the little white ball around! Although occasionally we needed to use orange balls so that we could find them in the snow banks! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Ron, I spent a couple of spring breaks in Galveston..we might have crossed paths if you were anywhere near there around '75. Course that time was sort of a blur /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Man... I don't want to make you feel old... but it was nearly 20 years later when I was there! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As stated before, didn't get a spring break. Not wanting to disclose any ages, but we did take a three day week end and went to Kansas City to see a Sonny and Cher concert followed the next night by Ike and Tina Turner at the Starlight Theater in Swope Park. Guess how long ago that was? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think spring break varies from state to state, especially at the high school level. Several places that I have lived had a fall and a spring break. Where I grew up, they had neither, and as far as I know they still don't. I think it depends upon the teacher's union. Anyway, if you live near the beaches in Florida, you may notice spring break lasts for about six weeks. Some weeks it's high schoolers and some weeks it's college kids. If you count bike week in Daytona, then add another week to the total. Now if you live in Florida long enough to go native (ultra thin blood) then during spring break you have a good chuckle at the all of the snowbirds running around half-naked when it is clearly sweater weather. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You sure are right about the thin blood, this is our sixth winter down here and each year it gets colder and colder. This year we have only run the air conditioner on two occasions and the first was to check to make sure that everything worked correctly after having it replaced last summer. The weather may be a little wetter here this year as this week we have had over two inches of rain.
