Spring fever

Has anyone else got spring fever besides me? I did get out and do some plowing in the pasture where we are going to plant some sweet corn this spring. It was really nice to spend some time on the tractor, the weather was pretty nice for it. Today we are having rain, sleet, and snow. Like they always say if you don't like the weather in Illinois wait till tomorrow it will change.

I'm starting to think about it, but still have a few things to get done before things start to thaw. Plus I just found out someone is VERY POed at me because I'm supposed to be pruning his apple trees; last fall he didn't want me to do them.

Spring for me arrives in late April when a major canoe race occurs downstate; I always go down to watch.

AH YES THE KENDUSKEAG[I know i spelled that wrong] Canoe race.Ihavent watched it on tv for a couple years.Does that guy in the abe lincoln suit,and stands in his canoe,still participate?I bet that water is cold ,when you dump.

Oh yeah, he's still there... flower in the lapel and all. So far he hasn't found out how cold the water is... could this be the year?

Today it really felt like spring was in the air, temps in the 50's, and all the snow from Thursday's storm is gone. I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it. I know I did some maintenance, and even dug out the welder to do much needed repairs.

10 days ago, I plowed our garden, tilled it, and planted onions, kale, radish's, and some cabbage. Last saturday, I plowed 8-1/2 acres for our church corn maze. Last tuesday, I plowed the neighbors garden.

Today, I stood out in a monsoon rain at a consignment auction. It was a cold, windy day.

It's still early March even though I'm ready for May weather.

COME ON SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must have got some of the same weather we had. Since I posted this we have had 4 inches of rain and cold weather. Sunday evening (March 12th) Springfield Illinois and surrounding areas was rocked by a tornado. One day it is spring and the next winter is back. I agree I am ready for may weather.
