Well I took my snowblower off last week and one day this week I had the hoe back on to go and dig a couple of test holes, was surprised at how much frost we still have, got the holes dug but had to work at it pretty hard, found out after digging that one location had a skating rink on the area I dug in. Maybe with the weather we're getting now it will help before I have any more digging jobs.

Someone said a blizzard was due here, but then I remembered today is April 1st.

In either case Gary, you need to remember that snowblower is a virtual plug keeping out bad weather. Now you've torn it!

I started stump diggin last Sunday, looking forward to some more digging this weekend.

Great to get back in the seat without 15 layers of clothes and gloves on.

I went to move some dirt yesterday, had to drive across lawn. Walking on it, it seemed fine and dry. NOT, I got about 20ft and sank to the front axle. I had to use the bucket, 4wd, locked rear axle to get the tractor out!!! SWMBO was not happy when she saw the deep ruts in the lawn. :( Looks like it will be several more weeks before I am moving any dirt. In the mean time... I will be looking for a source of good topsoil to fill in my OOPs.

Almost t-shirt weather here...almost.;)
What difference one week of weather can make...puts spring back in the old step...gives all enough time to get those projects done outside, also get ready for old man winter.:)

Tough break Jim, I had similar thing happen to me, difference is, I don't have any grass to mess up, just mud and rocks.

One major project this spring is to get the backyard leveled out, rocks raked out and some grass growing.

Three big stumps out front need to come out and that land then leveled and rock raked.

Looking forward to getting the yard presentable, will be spending a lot of time using the box blade with rippers I purchased at last year's cookout.

Look at it this way you just collected some more future seat time.
I did the same thing in my yard 2 er 3 weeks ago.

Sorry JonKioti and everyone else I hope I haven't jinxed things by taking my blower off but the test holes were a paying job, maybe when I came home I should have put it back on, today it's 51f and raining but the weather people are talking about the possibility of snow at the first of the week, hope they are so wrong. AN UPDATE
Yes I did jinx things taking the blower off. Mon and Tues we got snow and wind, at least I got a couple days work on the highways out of it, but now the yard looks like winter again, got home last night took the hoe off and put the blower on, had about a foot of heavy snow in the driveway with some packed tracks got it cleaned not too bad and today it;s melting again, so here's to hoping for the last kick of the cat. Happy Easter everyone. Gary
P.S. maybe I'll leave the blower on for awhile now.

Man. We got almost a foot of snow over the last 2 days. It sucks. It's melting now and will be gone by Sunday but everything is soggy as can be and mud season is right back into full swing.

Oh well, on the bright side the water table is the highest I've seen in 10 years.

Hey LB59, that's a really nice drive in shed you have there!

jimmyj that snow did suck I plowed and salted (sanded) up # 12 those days and the drifting was a #$@*%#, you are right about the water level, we live on the island slightly southeast of you and the lake level is about a foot higher than one week ago. Gary

Well, snow is almost all gone again and spring flowers are up! We have snowdrops and crocus's blooming.

On the flips side, plowing that last storm tore up the lawn along the edge of the lane worse than the whole prior winter.

Spring is almost here!!
