Spring problem

Another idea. Not sure about your climate , but water is a terrible thing to waste. Sink a cistern and run a solar pump to pond or install a sprinkler system for lawn. My septic plant waters my lawn, some of the 3 acres anyway.

If you could get the neighbor to sign off on it, How about those machines that jerk a lawnsprinkling line through the ground? They have minimal disruption to the turf. Sounds like gravity would pull the water down to the creek, and would help you both! That machine could yank a fair sized diameter line.

at the end of your drain pipe install a 55 gal plastic drum and install a sump pump (the kind that turns on and off with a float switch) then run an 1 1/2" pipe to your pond. Cost est; pump -$30 to $50 ; 300Ft of pvc pipe approx $100; elect line to the nearest connection $?? good terms with your niehbor PRICELESS /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. the good thing by installing the sump pump is that it will only run when needed, saving money /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
sorry forgot to add in the cost of a rented trencher if needed

Don't know where you live so I'm not sure if freezing is an issue in the winter. Also remember with a pump when you have elevation rise you loose pumping GPM with rise. So if you get 100' of rise to the pond a 10GPM pump won't be 10 going uphill.

You have to get some professional opinions on this situation. Call the town or county in the case you and the neighbor can't come to an understanding. I'm thinking worst case scenario on your part.

If gravity is an option my vote is for a drain to the creek. The cost of pumps, electricity, hassle isn't worth it. A small ditch to the creek will keep water in a small confined area for both of you and allow you to go about your life not worrying about power outages, utility bills and the like
