Spyware?

RonL - I'm no expert by any means but try the following. Internet Explorer Menu.......Tools...Internet Options...General...Temporary Internet Files...Settings...Check for newer versions of stored pages. You may want to experiment with different settings to see if you can solve your mystery there. This is from IE 6.

Ron I use Zone Alarm Pro and this has not been an issue for me. I am curious to see if you are able to put your finger on the problem however.

I use various versions of ZoneAlarm and Netscape 7.1 on several PCs, and I've never had it try to connect to TSC on its own. Seems like every piece of software I have wants to go out on the web every 5min, but nobody's tried to go to TSC yet but me!

I just recently upgraded Zone Alarm and started getting notices that my computer was constantly trying to connect to Tractorbynet. I just logged on and was reading the news when Zone Alarm posted an alert that my computerwas trying to send something to Tractorbynet. Very strange.

I suggest downloading the latest version of Ad-Aware. This software removes alot of this spyware that plagues many-a-PC.

I run Ad-aware. I just updated it yesterday and ran it. I removed two bugs. After I got the message from Zone Alarm I ran Ad-aware again and it showed nothing.

OK, now I'm getting it repeatedly with the latest ZoneAlarm. Attached is the warning message I get. I'm runing Netscape 7.1, I had browsed the forum earlier in the day but did not have an active window connected to TBN at the time.

That's what I'm getting. If I log on and surf the web, without logging on to Tractorbynet, I get it.

Ron, I run Spybot Search and Destroy in addition to AD-Aware. The two programs operate well togethor. I run Ad-Aware first, then Spybot S&D. Without fail i'll pick up crap on both. So I would always suggest having both programs. I also recently started using spyware blaster, it's a spyware blocker (another freebie) and it works great. Now when I run Ad-aware and Spybot every week I get little or no hits. Of course you can also decline to accept cookies from this site if all else fails. I run a tiny little program that takes about 10 seconds every night before I log off or shut down my machine. It is from Unh solutions, it clears all cookies, temp files, URLs, auto completes, auto passwords, History files (if you select them), recycle bin, and about 15 other things. It's a good little utility. Now before someone says it, yes you can do all of this manually....but NOT in 10 seconds. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
