Aged over 2 years means you will get some ambient moisture content in the wood. However, a 6" flat sawn red oak board can change width by 1/8 inch over the course of the year depending on where you live. If you have dry winters and humid summers, yes, you're floors could buckle and lift. That's why one usually tries not to put down wood floors in the winter (if you have the chioce)
