I'm no electrician but according tho the wiring diagram I would hook up
White on the cord to orange on the fan
Black on the cord to - black on the fan for high
- yellow on the fan for medium
- red on the fan for low
Green on the cord to any metal component on the motor housing. Not on the fan housing as it could insulated from the motor.
I was able to get a couple of large fans in roll around cages from work. They turned out to be a pain in the axx for me. The tops were clutter catchers and then stuff would fall off when they needed to be moved and they were constantly getting in the way. Ended up giving both away to a friend and installed 3 commercial ceiling fans to replace them. Much better solution for me.
I have two fans like you have and mounted one on a stand. Not much air and it gets very hot. Probably because of the airflow over the motor not being like designed inside a box like the air conditioner unit.
You might be better off with a stand alone squirrel cage type fan and mount a motor and run it by pulleys and a belt. I have two like that and one seems plenty for a 26x32 garage.
