That's funny because this is the first year in many that the squirrels did NOT eat our pumpkins and jack O lanterns. Pretty funny to have pumpkins sitting on the stoop, come home and see a 3" hole with a bushy tail sticking out of it. Squirrels love the seeds. Once they find out, its all over pretty quick. Also, get pictures of the squirrels covered in orange slime when they come out. Pretty funny.

I'll put the game camera back out!!

We had very heavy rains this fall. That resulted in lots of mushrooms. To my surprise, the squirrels like mushrooms, and could be seen eating lots of them and storing some others. One day, we observed a squirrel in the back yard jumping up and down and running around in circles. He was hilarious to watch. An hour later he was fine. We believe he ate one of the hallucinogenic mushrooms. Others have reported seeing the same thing.

We built a house on 2 acres of what was scrub forest. Our son moved back :grumpy: with a young dachshund that loved to dig and found something that necessitated a trip to the vet. It might have been a mushroom...it might have been ginseng. I had to educate the vet (like I have had to do on some of the tick-borne diseases)!

OK, that one looks like he got caught with his "hands" in the cookie jar:laughing: When I was 6 or 7, my grandfather had 3 pet squirrels, they are quite comical and mischievous.

I let mine out to play in the yard one evening and he never came back, but man I loved that squirrel. He was hilarious, never was aggressive towards anyone, always on the move, and always getting into something! The lady that had somehow come across the 3 orphan squirrels asked me if I would raise one, and I gladly said I would. If I would have known how cool he was going to be, I would have taken all 3!
