There are glue boxes but probably hard to find ones large enough to hold a squirrel. The traps have to be large because rats and squirrels can reach out and pull away from smaller traps intended for mice.
I've used small traps and many times had rats escape because you need their entire body to stick so they can't pull off.
Live catch traps are great and you have to carry them off. I don't know if a mile is enough so try a couple miles. The general consensus is that if you cross a river they won't make it back. I've taken off cats, possums, coons, and squirrels. None have returned.
When you release them you should have long leather gloves just for peace of mind. Wild animals can be feisty.
