Maybe I missed something in the thread but my first though seeing those pics is......

Those flat braces have no torsion strength.
Those plates are not going to remain in sync like that.

You can see on the item Travis posted, WR long used box tube as it provides torsion strength.

Again, if that is not your finished product then disregard my comment. View attachment 612354

Yea, I'm going to plate over them with 1/4" tonight. I have a few lengths of 3/8" bar that I'm going to weld vertically. There'll be like 10lbs of welding wire on this thing when I'm done with it. So, 1/4" + 1/4" +3/8" is just under an 1" thick.

But yea, only two cross bars come factory. And I don't even think they were 1/4". These that I welded on are 3/8". The factory setup worked fine for the FEL and pallet forks. But once the weight of the plow setup got hooked up, they would last about three mounting cycles before they got twisted. Once hooked up everything is fine though.

Woodsman take a old man advice, That isn't going to get it. Weld at least a 2'x2'x1/4 tube just below the top of the locking pin tube.

Even with a sheet of 1/4" with some 3/8" bars welded on top?

I used angle iron for my braces with the "open" end welded to the plate.

Pretty similar to what I'm going to do. Just go through the scrap bin and see what I have on hand.

I think he is as going to plate the whole thing per his post, that would help. You are currect it needs some rigidity.

Plate the whole thing vs a couple straps. And maybe some channel on the top.
Here is the SSQA on my tractor. No problem with ever twisting my QA.

There. That should hold. That square tube is 3/8". I ran out of argon mix towards the end though.

Its all mounted to the tractor. Hoping this holds up. You have any idea how hard it was loading this up over the tailgate into my F250? haha

Maybe next time try lowering the tail gate.

Erm, it was down. The saw horses are just a couple feet off the ground. F250 tailgate was a bit higher. Before the weld job, I could lug this thing around. Now, not so much. haha
