This might be a trend on newer tractors. My 2016 Kubota B26 ssqa factory HD bucket has flared lips to help center the tractor ssqa mount when attaching. Of the dozen of other attachments from various manufacturers it’s the only one I have ever seen to have this feature. Have great line on sight but this simple feature makes connecting almost foolproof and quick. The backhoe qa buckets have similar flares that make changing bucket a snap.

The Kubota M59 line of sight is not as clear. Have trouble lining up side to side with a 30 year old skidsteer grapple. Up and down I can tell pretty good it’s just dropping into the side framing. Got to be careful not to slip and damage the grapple hydraulic hoses. Thinking of welding on some side lips to the grapple to help center when attaching. The other attachments don’t give as much problem but could benefit too? Any similar experiences?

Advice or examples welcome.

I incorporate flare guides on everything I build that could benefit from it.

Here's a pic of fork "pockets" on a carpet pole I built.

Never had many "lipped " SSQA attachments. Mostly Euro style.

Ssqa bucket lips.

Backhoe lips.

Think the side to side tolerance on the grapple is tight, 1/4-3/8”. Thinking of welding on 2.5x3.5x0.25” tabs on the side frame at 45 degrees. Just to help funnel the ssqa tractor mount in. Gray hairs have to work smarter sometimes.

Like the boom pole lips. I store my forks in the boom pole on a pallet in a side stall.

Thanks, I see the flared lips.
I kissed a girl with flared lips once a long long time ago! :D

I know your rig is lots more heavy duty than most. Those upper triangular wedges help to center the top. None of my attachments have that. Is a standard ssqa plate easy to hitch to??

Just that little extra material to help guide the tractor ssqa in helps. My old 80s, M5030DT cab with Bobcat ssqa welded in I was total blind. It took getting off and on several times to line up heavy attachments.

Just asking if a little LIPS augmentation to female side of the ssqa would bring joy to mating of attachments?

?

If you ever get a chance to use Euro style, in comparison the answer would be no.
