When I bought my Ford 2000 a couple of months ago, it only had one stabalizer bar on the 3-point. The guy I bought it from said that's all it needs. It seems to work okay with just the one when I'm brush hogging or blading, but all the tractors I've owned previously had a stabalizer bar on both sides. Is it necessary, or is just the one sufficient?

I had a Ford 3600 back in the 80's and all I had was one stab. bar. Worked fine.

1 will do 95% of the time. I've bent them using one when using a heavy bush hog on a bit of a hillside. 1 is good, 2 is better.....

ditto what the others said. 1 works.. 2 better.
brackets and bars are cheap / easy to make, so it's no big deal to add the 2nd one.

I was mowing yesterday and somehow snapped one of the stabilizer pins (under the fender) 2nd one held everything straight, but the bar that dropped now has a bit of a bend in it....
I feel a lot better with 2 in use.

notic ethey never break at the implement.. but only at the tractor, then somehow spear right into the ground..
mine usually get.. or used to get, the lynch pins snatched off.. till I switched to using cotter pins or keychain round split rings. those work great!

They make lynch pins that are stronger than bear traps. You have to be careful of them or they will make your fingers pay the price!

I thought those black ones were bear traps. I think they could get a bear by the toe and hold it there. They can snap you in bone breaking style going either way. I have a few and have put them where I'm not as likely to use them. I don't want to hurt myself (again).
