I wouldn't worry about the copper treated boards葉hat's what you can buy today. It's the arsenic treated boards that bother some folks.

The olde green boards remind me of copper oxide.

Likely sloppy Chem 101 on my part..... I should go look up the compounding... :reading:

I am intimately familiar with trying to comply with ever changing building codes, ADA regulations, and the **** like way, some inspectors do their jobs.

Getting on an inspectors bad side, is also sure way to suffer death by code book.

Please do not get the impression I am a fan of that.

I've worked in a number of construction fields that had specifications, including code based ones. Seemed the people i heard that complained the most, were ones that just couldn't seem to take the time to find out what exactly those specifications are. I would be talking to a sub and they would be bitterly complaining about inspector so and so, and how codes were messing them up, etc. So basically and admittedly simplistic, what i was hearing, is they didn't really know what the specifications were for the job and were blaming the inspector for being a jerk for enforcing codes and the specifications of the product. The exact same inspectors i had personal, on the job experience with and had a very good relationship.

Sloppy Chem 101 on my part, I really should look up the compounding :reading:...... I tend to think of copper oxide when I think of the olde green coloured PT wood.

Just deleted a recent triplicate post of mine (PT boards). No matter how many times I reloaded the page, nothing would show here after post # 20. (I can be OCD, but it wasn't this me this time )

Nothing updated here this morning UNTIL I did a Quick Reply (the one I just deleted), and these many repeats then showed up as well as cquaigy's post.

I can delete the dups, but leaving them for now in case there is any diagnostic value...

For a while the push in Maine was to build creative playgrounds for children in the different communities through the state through local fundraising. People loved it, kids included. Then it was pointed out that it was done with toxic pressure treated wood.View attachment 516162......That is not so cool anymore! Your creative playground looks a bit similar to one in Denton, TX. It was very popular, but when someone pointed out that it was built with that toxic pressure treated wood, it was closed down for many months until it was torn down, money raised to buy new material, and volunteers finally got a new one built.

Mr Adi, doesn't understand the world he live in.

The University of Berkley, recently had to take 20,000 files off line, (which is quite alright with me), because the the government declared them to be a foul of the Americans With Disabilities Act.

Apparently, blind people surfing the internet were unable to access them. So, to make it fair, the government mandated, no one access them.

Since, Canada is clearly more progressive than the US, I have to wonder, if the new staircase in Toronto, will be closed immediately, because it has no elevator, or wheelchair ramp?
