hi everyone

let me just start by saying i am happy i found this site you guys are really useful and helpful thanks ....
i’ve got a question, with my 2015 massey ferguson 2606E hydrostatic (60hp) with 700 hours. i’ve bought it a months ago from a dealer has been fully check and services from the dealer ... while plowing with a two furrow plow ive stalled it once on the turtle speed setting, then i’ve changed it to the low gear (snail setting) and its better but i’ve stalled it a few other time while going through patch's of clay ... so while hitting resistance, the RPM decrease to a stalled if i don’t decrease my speed. is this normal ? like i’ve pulled trees out of the ground with it and it didn’t do that, it would spin the wheels, not stalled!! Perhaps because the plow just put so much traction it kill the engin ? i also had the front end loader on it if it makes a difference .... but the soil is wet and soft, it feels like if i am running out of fuel ... i am running dyed fuel but that’s shouldn’t matter ? there is no DPF ... after reading online i will check the seat sensor and the inner tube for the air filter and clean the air filter but any other suggestion ???

thanks

Are you running the RPMs on the engine on up there (at least 2000 rpm or better)?

Second thing, hydrostats are funky in that when you start to bog down you have to let up on the go pedal for more power - mashing it down further will stall it further. It is counterintuitive, especially if you are used to running a gear machine.

Second on the rpms...are you plowing at the PTO rated speed or better for maximum pressure to hydo? My Boomer will stall on steep grades if I mash the pedal, it's like shifting to higher gear. Let up on go pedal to keep rpms above 2000 if possible in the gear range you are using.

yes it did it at 2200 but it was better at 2500 rpm ...

ha yes now that you say it, it’s makes sense.

thanks

Also, not sure if your tractor has it or not, but if you have a draft control by your 3pt lever you might try experimenting with it so that it will raise your plows up a little before you stall out. It will drop them back down once you regain some traction.

My NX5510 has an "anti-stall" feature. I don't really use it much. I think that one can get a seat-of-the-pants feel and mange (slow down; shift-down; adjust load- less load or raise implement such as a plow). Nothing like the feel of churning ponies that all of a sudden start bucking on you (accompanied by a smattering of black smoke)!
