I just bought a 2002 grasshopper 725g2 zero turn mower. It has the 3cyn kubota gas engine(wg750-b).
It is hard to start sometimes but the main problem is its losing power and stalling. When you increase the throttle speed to fast it will stall. When you try to engage the blades it will stall unless you are choking it. When mowing it will sometimes loose power and then it spits out a cloud of black smoke and then its fine for alittle while.
The carb, fuel filter and spark plugs have been replaced. The valves were adjusted the other day and it seemed to help some. The repair guy said it may need the valves ground. He said to try running 93 octane gas in it and see if that would help. I haven't tried that yet.
Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem? I'm thinking about buying a service manual for the engine that I found online. Any help would be appreciated.
