We use a lot of ice between the boat, the camper and at our swimming hole. Last May I bought this off the 'Zon:

I only ran it on an inline filter, used the proper cleaning fluid to flush it out once every month or so, and now it's not making ice. Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty, so I just made a claim & have a $319.99 gift card as a refund. Is there a company that makes a smaller, commercial grade ice maker that won't break the bank?

We have and use a countertop ice maker, but it's low volume and low grade ice that melts really quick.

For lots of ice you need restaurant or commercial grade. They cost more but also produce more ice and live longer.

Vevor machines seem to have pretty decent reviews, and seem to straddle the line between home owner and commercial machines; at pretty decent prices. $300-500; and depending on model advertise 80#-120#/24 hour period.

My wife and youngest are weird about ice. We had one at our old house and bought one for the house we are building now. Never had a problem, years of service.

I don't remember which exact model we got but this is real close.

Hospital Manitowoc Ice Makers not inexpensive but service sucks… the local distribution only does warranty work… even when repeat purchase history exists.

3 years ago purchased a $200 Costco countertop maker for RN station and no issues.

It uses propane type refrigerant.

Only caveat is manual refill of water…

Though I can't speak directly about this product I did buy a VEVOR sausage stuffer and it is a high quality machine. Hand crank. Great price and free shipping. They seem to make or at least have their name on lotsa stuff.

I was hoping this was more about the countertop ones. We decided to skip the water/ice maker in the new fridge and get a countertop one instead. The ones in fridges always fail. I'd like one that uses a dedicated line. Just the two of us most of the time, so volume is not a huge deal.

I have their clamp on bucket forks, a 7"x14" metal lathe, and wife got a corrugated metal planting garden bed thing. Been happy with all of it, When taking cost vs quality into consideration. The metal lathe was $300; now if I had paid Grizzly money, I would be disappointed, but I definitely feel I won on that. Guess what I'm saying is; a 133#/day truly commercial ice maker isn't going to be $350; so don't expect it to be equal to a $3500 one, but it will probably far out complete a $250 counter top plastic one.

Edit: almost forgot, I just got their MiG/Tig/Stick 270Amp welder. So far, it's been fine. Think I paid $250 for a multi process machine. Less then I would have paid for a Hobart 140amp mig only machine.

Don't know about the long term quality, but $99 seems fair foe this 26#/day countertop machine. It doesn't 'appear' to have a plumbed option, and I don't know if it could easily be retrofitted for one.

Not being personally weird about ice, I'm curious. How are they weird about ice? Shape? Size? Temperature? Bubbles? Taste?...
