Ok, lets try to sort this out. First, lets talk L2800/3400. I know that is not how this thread started, but that is where I am going to start.

*In 2006, Kubota made a manufacturing change and began install the "shock-less" type valve in the 3-point (as opposed the the "standard" type)/ This valve is found in GL10 series and the original L4400s.

Now, L3200/3800s:

*It looks to me that the L3200/3800s both came from day 1 with a "shockless" type valve. This valve is also found on the L3700SU, L45, L4400 (part # changed since the originals), M59, MX4700, and MX5100.

This range of product (listed above on the second "*") covers what must be 50,000+ units with this vavle on it. The reason that I state this is that if your unit is truely "un-useable", then either you are using it in an un-approved manner (I am not saying that it is, but it is an option) or there is something wrong. If you think that you have something wrong, take the unit into a dealer and have them inspect it (with your implement on it). If they say it is normal, ask them to connect your implement to a new unit (same model) and see if it acts the same. I understand that if it does, then that does not help you, but if it does not, then you can explain to the dealer that yours obviously has an issue.

The truth of the matter is that even if you get several videos of "good" hitch operation, that does nothing for getting yours "fixed". If your dealer does not want to help, find another. This seems to keep on going and going forever. Take the unit in and if they say "normal" then say "show me another". Seems simple enough to me.

I tried a new on lot L3800 it jerked the dealer agreed its a jerky valve and says he puts an older 3010 valve in the one people don't like for $400 and that makes it smoother. I was told the exact same thing from another dealer and trust me I been around tractors since I was a kid I can handle the concept of how to lift the lift lever if you move these slowly they jerk plain and simple

When I approached my dealer to question what remedy was available, his response was that this is a known issue with these tractors and he cannot do anything unless Kubota releases a procedure for repair or adjustment.

What dealer told you that? In Bastrop, I guess you are going to Ewald Seguin. Would that be right?

My dealer took a different tack, advising me there is no known problem, and the only thing his 4 mechanics could think of was an air leak in the suction hose. Dear Texas fella since you are the service manager,at a Kubota dealership, could you please state your official position on this, and better yet why dont you send us a video of a box blade on a brand spanking new L3800, or L3200, and move the blade up very slowly and show us how smooth it is?

Yes, and we're sorry but that would have been a very short thread...

...Dear Texas fella since you are the service manager....
Let's not scare him away, he's here to help... like everyone here at TBN!!!

Is there any chance that the jerky valves are back... you say that from 2006 on they are shockless but it seems to me some of these valves are as bad as the original 2004 to early 06 valves. Any chance kubota has been using a "new and improved" / cheaper / jerkier valve within the last quarter??? Thanks for the information you have given so far

...another question, do you think the jerky valves can ever be adjusted to work "smoothly"?

I applaud Texas Fella for coming on board this topic and trying to help being a Kubota service manager.

I know there are others - Kubota area service reps that just snoop around and don't participate and then forward information from here to your dealer. The dealer I purchased from was utterly incompetent for several reasons which I'd rather not go into here. I never identified the dealership or the dealer or myself here in one thread but pointed out that I thought the dealer I purchased from was incompetent.

I later proceeded trying to get an item others were getting replaced under warranty done at another dealer who advised me to go back to the dealer I purchased from. When I went back to them and asked about the issue they claimed they had found out from their Kubota area rep that I had been dealing with their competitor and I had been badmouthing their dealership online (I'd never mentioned who the dealer was) and threatened to sue me. When I asked the owner to show me where I had badmouthed his dealership, he just never came back with a response. Not an apology, nothing. That dealer is no longer a Kubota dealer - don't know why but they sure did suck!

Out of respect for privacy, I'm not identifying the dealer or the Kubota area service rep who was playing the role of big brother and poking his nose around telling my dealer that I was dealing with his competitor in the area.

The whole point of telling you this story is that you have got to have huge appreciation for someone like Texas Fella who is telling you how it is and willing to do what he can to help, being a Kubota service manager himself.

Oh yeah. Watch very carefully what you say on the internet. If you don't have anything nice to say about a dealer, don't say it at all :) I learned the hard way - regardless of whether or not you are think you are being safe by not identifying anyone involved.

I was turned off Kubota after the experience for a while. Then another dealer that happens to be on my way to work has re-built my confidence. Their parts department has been nothing short of fantastic to work with (they have reopened at noon on a Saturday while they were on their way out to let me purchase a roller pin). I have bought some other items from them like a QA bracket etc. If you are anywhere up in this area, B.E. Larkin Equipment in Stoufville is a fantastic dealer to deal with. My experience with them has been excellent and if I were purchasing new they are the first and last place I would go to.
