Start up and operating rpms

1500 is kind of low. My new 1025 is supposed to idle at 1575 (I cut it back to 1500)(for emissions). You need some oil flow/pressure to preserve the main and rod bearings. Rev it up a little bit. Won't hurt it.

Grandpa had a nice V8 Plymouth once. It was stick shift, and he was forever lugging it in top gear. Dad took it over and had to replace all the bearings.

I SEE ALL OF YOU WORKS IN YOUR YARD .....AND NEVER OUTSIDE YOUR SHED .TIME FOR LOW RPMS IS GOING TO WORK AND COMING BACK FROM WORK . LOW RPMS IS TO REACH OPERATING TEMP AND FOR COOLING DOWN AFTER WORK LIKE TAKING A BEER AFTER A HARD DAYS WORK !
