Start Up Procedure for MF35? Been Sitting 4yrs

If your tractors hours are real then you have loads of life left in it.
I sold a 1959 MF65 a few years back with almost 12,000 and the hour meter was still working. The tractor ran fine and was silent almost, and exhaust was clear after I reset the valves and timing etc.
You should get lots of service out of that tractor and the FEL looks to be pretty stout too.
Wash the rear end out with diesel - ran the tractor back and forth a few yards to splash the diesel around to wash out the crud. Drain and refill with the proper oil after letting it drain overnight. That is what I did and it made a huge difference.
Anyway, I think you got a good buy for $1,000 plus some preventative maintenance.:thumbsup:

Doubtful the hours are real....Tachs can be replaced but how it runs is the real deal....You have a real mf35 utility....heaver front axle and real power steering.....Not sure what all would be needed to add the pto but try to find a explored parts view and the remove your lift cover and see whats missing.

I sold the loader off my mf35 for 1k sold the tractor with newly overhauled z134 and fresh paint for 4k you did good
