Yesterday I used my old Universal 445. It started fine. I cut it off for a while and when I tried to start it it just clicked one time and would not turn over. I charged battery and tried to boost but no luck. Today I troubleshot a little. When you unhook the lead from the stater switch to the solonoid you get 12 volts with the starter lever engaged. When you hook it back to the solonoid you get nothing. I then tried to jump from the battery lead on the solonoid to the lead on the starter. Nothing.
Bad starter? It is pretty old as in close to 40 years but may have been rebuilt one time but not sure.
Any suggestions?
