Starter Won't engage

I have a new Kubota 3700SU. About 25% of the time when I try to start it the starter will not engage. After a bit of fussing it will engage and then start. I believe it is one of the safety switches, but am not sure. Any Suggestions.

My neighbor was having a similar problem with his B7610 and it turned out to be the safety switch on the hydro pedal.

It could be any number of your safety switches. I always check all of them when this happens and after I fiddle with all of them, it inevitably starts. I don't think my switches are bad, I just don't think I always disengage them completely or hit something when getting on the tractor.

Yes, I am pretty sure it is a safety switch. After a few minutes of fiddling with the seat, hydro pedal and clutch it will start. But it is a pain in the butt.

When this happens to me, it's always the PTO lever. I seem to bump it getting on and off the tractor.

I'm throwing in with the clutch safety safety switch.

If you can access all the switches, you can jumper them one at a time until the engine starts thereby isolating the one that is giving you trouble. You may have to go thru several start cycles to check them all. Just mark down the ones you tested.

When this happens to me, it's always the PTO lever. I seem to bump it getting on and off the tractor.

When it happens to me it's the PTO clutch as well.
