Looks like a flex head gear wrench will get those two bolts out without removing the exhaust. I may be mistaken because I looked on a newer model.

jimmy, I sense by some of your posts that you must be a service mechanic at a dealer or similar. You've come up with some nice posts of information that most others didn't know. I especially noticed when you mentioned "gear wrench" because most users don't know that a gear wrench product is much narrower than standard wrenches yet equal strength. In addition they can do smaller tightening or loosening "movements" than most other choices.

Yes, I work at a Massey dealer near Charleston, SC. I have an addiction to tools, tractors, and resurrecting old iron from the dead. I enjoy helping people and figuring out hard mechanical problems.

You yourself are a gearhead. I like your lights. And yes, every time I get parts from Kubota, I feel like Massey is a bit more expensive but not as bad as JD.

As for the OP, you may not want to pull off the exhaust components. That could open up a rather large can of worms.

I concur as usually exhaust studs break as heat causes them to badly rust up and you then discover the wonderful world of broken stud removal and thread inserts etc etc. along with discovering a new vocabulary.
