Cat Fever.

I have a question about your well. I have some neighbors up here that are talking about having wells done this summer. I think there are three or fore of them thinking about having it done. One of them is doing all the leg work and the prices are running from 25$ a foot to 40$ a foot. That's with casing, electrical and pump. The lower prices one is out of Cheyenne and wants mileage and set up and tear down time. One is out of Farson Wy and most expensive one is out of Evanston I was wondering how much a foot your well was? And if the guy you used, dose any work down here in this part of Wyo. if he does it maybe worth his time.

Thanks.
CWB.

Day 1: Boiled crawfish, jumbo shrimp & crab, pan seared red fish with lemon crawfish cream sauce, alligator andouille sauce piquant, dirty rice
Day 2: BBQ wild pig, flounder stuffed with crab meat, spicy fried speckled trout, gar balls, crawfish pistolettes

My lady will make homemade cheese cake I think. We also got a Blue Belle ice cream topped with homemade blue berry glaze.
We probably will buy some smoked boudins and cracklins for snacks. I dunno what else my lady will do. She goes crazy with food sometimes.

That wild pig is going to be something. I will brine it with some mix of Asian spices similar to what you find in Vietnamese crispy pork belly.

For no particular reason, what's your address? :confused3:

Good grief. I'm filling up the SUV and leaving early in the morning......need any extra blue bell to cool off those hot tongues? laissez les bon temps rouler!

Two people, energy efficient and large appliances. The dryer is probably the largest consumer of propane, if not the range, the two on demand units are both high efficiency. We do laundry once a week. I cook 6 days a week on a 36" range. We filled the 1000 gallon propane tank to 40% almost two years ago, the guage has not moved.

Our goal was minimal energy usage and we have achieved it.

Oh I totally get efficiency. You are saying your operational cost are $5 per day for heat, cooling, hot water, cooking, laundry, lighting and all additional appliances. All I can say is wow. :)

I think those prices sound good. My well is 85' deep and I'm into it 5500$ so far.(drilling/casing/hand pump on top) He did say the deeper you go the less it gets per foot. The total for mine is going to be about 8500$. Simple math tells me I'll be paying 100 bucks a foot when done. However, I feel lucky to get it done. Word is there are only two drillers in this area and the other one is more expensive and they were both months out to get it done. I lucked out because a neighbor had scheduled his months ago and while he was getting his drilled I ask the driller if he could get mine done while in the area.

I do not know the dollar per day but on the utility bills they always compare our use to our neighbors. My wife and I were always the most efficient in the neighborhood.

I hope we continue that trend here in Idaho. Burning wood sure helps lower those cost, but if you add the cost of getting the wood, well the cost would be higher for sure.

I wonder'd if a wood stove was out of the question in your area, the price of those beautiful long vista's you have in your UT & ID pics.
How far a drive to the ''woods"? I've seen hot springs in both states (Heber UT & McAll ID) it made me think how sweet that would be for heating, of course I guess it's regulated and off limits.:confused3:

I've burned wood in my shop for 25 years. I'm installing radiant hot water heat in the floor of the shop at the farm. I may still install a wood stove. But it will be to reminisce and enjoy the brief heat rather than a dependent source. :)

In Utah I had to drive about 2 hours. Here in Idaho it'll be 20 minutes.

Here's a picture of some of the cows. All the land you can see is part of my brothers ranch.

Heck yes! Can't get it up here! Lots of traditional homemade ice cream up hear but I do miss Blue Bell Vanilla Bean (especially with pumpkin pie).
