Several folks have asked for more pictures. Here are a few. The distant house up the hill is my neighbor. I don't live there, only have a barn on the property.

Beautiful! Any theft issues? I was always leery of leaving my stuff unattended (even in a barn), with my Indiana property that was an hour from home (I lived near and worked in Chicago). I retired and moved to Iowa - I don't have that concern any longer. :)

Fortunately, no theft issues. I did install a 12v disconnect on the tractor buried under the hood which diminishes the likelihood it could get stolen, and my neighbor on the south up the hill keeps an eye on the place, but truthfully, IMO, the risk of theft is well worth the opportunity to have this experience and I try not to worry about it. It's all insured, and it's just stuff . . .

Just a followup . . . I spent the afternoon working in the woods with the newly acquired MX5400 which replaced the L3301. What a huge upgrade! Super stable. Enormous lift capacity for moving logs. My safety comfort zone got a huge shot in the arm with this machine. I installed hydraulic cylinders for the top link and side link on the 3pt so hooking up implements is much easier as well. An expensive switch, but IMO, worth it.

Yeah there's no doubt about it the MX is a noticeable jump up from a standard L, sounds like the right choice glad it's working for you! (y)

It's a capable machine!

With inflation and tractors holding value, you can sell it for what you paid for it!

Would you share info on the grassland "improvement" project? What plants did you add, how have they progressed, greatest challenge / hindrance? I have some original native prairie in Sumner county but steadily loosing it to invasive fescue.

Welcome J. Clethodim is slow, but works well on fescue. I'd try and keep it away from the native grasses, though.
