I just been looking on ebay and found a NH 276 small square baler for $600. anyone know what these are like? description says tatty but in full working order and can be demonstrated baling a few bales upon viewing. Thoughts?

Check on parts availability in your area and if folks can work on it, unless your a do it yourself person. In my case I looked at a lot of older balers, and talked to a lot of folks on operation and up-keep. It quickly became apparent they were money pits. There is a reason folks are selling. Find out why, and folks generally run equipment until they cant get parts or it fails for some reason.Thus I chose to bite the bullet and get a good working low HP inline Baler. I found a good working Hesston 4550 (trade in for bigger unit). Yes I paid a bit more, but it has been pretty flawless for me

Ok, thats interesting to hear actually! May have to do a bit more talking to people around, see what they do. many folks are giving up small squares and just moving to rounds for personal use but there is still a demand for small squares from horse people etc.

Parts are readily available for New Holland balers and they are reliable IMO.
