Thanks, Bird. Southerlands also sells them. I looked at one in Wichita Falls, TX and I'm pretty sure you can order them from their catalog too. Does John want one shipped to N.Y. State?

Jim...

YES! Exactly!... I'm at my shop now, when I get home later, I have the web address on the kids computer...

I really believe the name ... did a quick search here:

Okay John, I'll give them a call tomorrow, but can you give me an idea of the size you want or do you just need more info? Many of these places have the materials and want to do the complete installation. I'm not sure if they will ship the kit out of state, but I'll sure check. One reason is that I want to build one or two myself for my tractors, so I have a special interest here too. I'll let you know what I find out. Here's a kit I found at Sutherlands (I spelled it wrong before), but I don't think this is what you have in mind.

Lone Star Special for under $800

For the price and size, I felt this was pretty good value...{Also depending on the shipping?}

I was wondering if anyone had one from this company, the quality and gauge of the units, etc.etc.

WalMart just started carrying a 12X20 for $767... if worse comes to worse...{no shipping!}

JimI, I don't know for sure yet, but right now the plan is to go Thursday, the 4th. My brother and his wife are going with us. We hope the crowds will be smaller on a weekday, and Thursdays they let old folks in free./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif We'll go pretty early in the morning, both to beat the traffic and parking problems and because it takes all day if you only go one day. So if you plan to go then also, let me know and we'll meet somewhere out there. I might even eat a couple of those Corndogs myself./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

We plan to go sometime after Oct 15th, during the week. Went for the first time in 20 years last year and it was great. Lots to eat, for sure.

Dang, Bird. Your post about the State Fair sure brings back memories. The big event when I was in high school was to visit the auto pavilion to scope out what the new Chevys & Fords would look like for the next model year. That, & the Texas-Oklahoma football game on the 1st weekend were anxiously awaited. It's been a few decades!

Tdog, are you old enough to remember, like I do, when the State Fair Automobile Building was the first time you got to see the new year models? And while the Texas-Oklahoma football game was quite an event, downtown the night before was the really BIG event. Were you ever there for that riot? The first year they cracked down on that ('67), after they tore up the downtown so bad in '66, I was assigned to drive a paddy wagon that night. Don't know how many I hauled to jail; lost count after 108.[forwn]

Bird, in your post the Ohio State Fair certainly does have a nice web site at http://www.ohiostatefair.com and claims to be "one of the most prestigious" in the nation and I'll bet it's a dandy, too. But according to their web site they have an attendance of just under one million, while the State Fair of Texas claims 3 million attendance last year.
I can safely say the first sentence shows an extreme awareness of diplomacy! The last sentence though is not very tactful! Some of that Star Member mental awareness? Be nice, get them off balance, and then slap'm up alongside the head with the facts? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Bird,
I beleive the 3million is 3million through the gate including participants with many duplicates. Where the 1 million at the ohio state fair is unique visitors.

Gary.
