And Gary, maybe that accounts for the difference./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Huh? I didn't realize I was part of this discussion. Of course I've heard people say that us computer geeks all look alike. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

As long as I'm here, though, I read that the California State Fair (CalExpo) had "nearly" a million visitors this year. Hard to keep up with you Texans. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Bird,
Did Gary just say that the visitors to the Texas State Fair are clones and not unique individuals/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif? It was always unique when I showed up/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif!

Oops, sorry about that, Scruffy & Harv. I guess us oldtimers with bad memories do get these computer geeks mixed up./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Randy, I wasn't sure that I entirely understood Gary's comment there. I wondered if he was implying that the State Fair of Texas was so big, or so good, that the same million people went 3 times, whereas once was enough in Ohio./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Okay John, I just spoke with a lady at Lonestar Carports who told me that they would be willing to ship out of state, even as far as N.Y., but she did mention that the cost might be prohibitive. She said if you would contact them, they would calculate the shipping costs for you. Also she stated that they use 2" x 3" tubing at 7' tall as their standard and many others are 2" x 2-3/8" tubing. Their wind rating on 26ga metal is 110 mph and 90 mph on 29ga. I may make a trip over there is a couple of weeks and buy one. If so, I'll let you know more info. Really, any additional info can be found on their website which you already have found. I suspect they are pretty good folks, but I can't really make a firm recommendation until I see one of their units.

Well, Bird. I think your idea of going to the fair on the 4th is probably a good idea. I think I will go on the weekend since I have to show up for work Monday-Friday. The last time I went, I caught a DART bus http://www.dart.org/coolthings.asp?zeon=RIstatefairflyer from one of their remote parking lots and it dropped me off right at the gate. They run about every hour and it sure is nice not having to deal with the traffic or parking. If you are interested, you might check to see what their schedule is this year. Hope you enjoy the fair.

Oops! The State Fair Flyer is only on weekends. Sorry...

Yeah, if you're going on a weekend, the DART bus is probably a good deal. But of course, I'm pretty familiar with the streets around there and will go pretty early in the morning, so I don't expect any real traffic problem.
