What's done is done, it's pointless to look back. He isn't the first person or business to overextend, or assume the good years will never end. Chances are that he won't be the last. The only questions are if he will make a comeback, and whether he will come good to the people who got screwed.
And if they do try to make a comeback AND not make the people whole again that had orders he'll never ever make it.
It would be tough regardless.

When you build a "house of cards", all it takes to bring it down is a good sneeze or breeze from an opened window.

EA was clearly over-extended, living on borrowed time, and got caught.

Yeah, they took out a loan to increase their production capacity and then couldn't get an occupancy permit, so they couldn't move into the building and begin making more attachments--a thing that seems to have crushed the plan since the increased production and sales were to service the loan. That said, I discussed this in my OP in this thread.

So you think it was all just bad luck? No shady business practices?

I seem to remember when I was looking for a grapple *before covid* and *before the building*, the wait times were already in the 3+ months range. Why does no one remember that when talking about this?

I remember some here saying they waited much longer than that.
I remember they were continuing to take orders and $ when they had no intention of filling those orders.

Clearly you aren't in the EA target market if lightweight implements meet your needs. There is a real difference between a "hobby" farmer/rancher with a "Ranch'ette" and someone who really uses their implements to maintain less-than-ideal properties.

I think this is a distinction missed by many people on this site frequently.
My guess is there are very few on this forum who have machines needing anything heavier duty the most all cat. one implements available. If it makes you feel good to have "bragging rights" because you own EA implements good for you.

And yet there are those here who act like all the problems stem from the lack of an Occupancy Permit on a building that was just built 🤦‍♂️

Wait, you have no idea what their "intentions" were.

So, you think his business practices were all good?

I cannot speak to that because, like everybody else, I don't have any insider information.

What I do know:

1) When in the middle of a lawsuit, until the lawsuit is settled, all attorneys advise their clients not to talk to anybody not involved with the lawsuit.

2) People in the community will talk and often talk smack assuming something is up (wrong) because nobody directly involved in the lawsuit is talking.

3) Idled employees may or may not also talk smack because they are not gainfully employed.

4) Idled employees will all at some point seek other work elsewhere because they too have bills to pay.

5) EA had a bunch of backorders and the new production facility was to help that.

6) Asking for payment upfront was to slow down demand that EA couldn't reasonably meet, but the orders kept coming in.

7) Ted had hired professional management most likely so he could focus on product design as well as marketing (making videos and such which is EA's online marketing strategy).

So yeah, based on what I do know, I doubt that Ted used customers' funds as his own money and to accuse Ted of commingling customer funds with his own funds is to claim Ted embezzled money.
Embezzling is a crime and Ted has not been accused of embezzlement. As such, I also know those people claiming he did are speculating, and frankly bearing false witness.
