I have some saw horses from StableMate. they are 36H x 42W and made of 16 gauge galvanized steel with nylon feet and hold 500 lbs. each. They weigh about 22 pounds each.

Heavy Duty for sure and a bit pricey but they will last a lifetime.

I have a set of the Home Depot. Very solid. Sit outside half the time , rusted, beat but still work well. I used them more for metal projects really. I adjust the leg height to hold long stock. The plastic ones are great tho when you care about your saw blade when working w/ lumber and your too wrapped up in what you're doing to strap a 2x4 across. But the plastic ones kinda melt when getting something hot enough to do so.

I have a set of steel saw horses I got at Lowe’s around Christmas. I forget the brand .

Not sure why I didn’t get a set sooner. Stable, very positive lock on the legs open and the telescoping legs. The latch to keep the legs locked in the stow position is also very solid. And they take very little space to store.

Ifind I am a lot more willing to use them they are so stable.

When I get moving….I will get the brand name

Edit - I got moving, the steel horses I have are Toughbuilts.

I have a pair of no name folding metal sawhorses that did not come with any kind of brackets to attach a wood top. I had to attach wood to the top using construction adhesive. The legs fold entirely into the top making the whole package including the plywood on top about 4 in thick. The big positive here is that they store underneath a roll away tool chest in between the casters. When opened out it's only about 2 ft tall, then it has a set of leg extensions that are nested with the first sections and attached with thumb screws. They are very fast to get to the 2ft which I use for small jobs, and then it takes a few minutes to put the extensions on for larger jobs. Mine are very robust and stable I've been pretty pleased with them

Hello to all TBN good folks . Just wanted to read your comments and thoughts on steel sawhorse folding leg sawhorses . I have/had never owned a set of these . Just for years have owned A wood frames I made . Yesterday I received as a gift a set of Bora's . There suppose to be rated at 1500 lbs each . I opened box they came super extra well packaged and shipping protected. Mine do not have the adjustable leg option . The paint scheme and finish look exceptional on these . Another thing I like when you put your 2×4's on them , the bracket your wood sits on is drilled to attach screws in your wood to make it more sturdy . Also the center cross beams have holes predrilled to attach screws underneath to crossing flat placed 2x4 studs .

I ' am a near 65 yo retired guy . Not going to use them and beat them up on a job site daily , etc . Anybody own the Bora like me ? Or the Toughbuilts , Wen's or other brands ? Remember I received these as a gift . Think I 'am really going to like using them . Comments ? Hands on experience ?

Oh one last thing I realize there new but man do these things open and close quick . Goin to be a great space saver also. Thanks in advance for your thoughts , experiences and comments on the steel folding sawhorses of any brand .
Toughbuilts x4 for our crew; folds/transport easily into work van and they carry an incredible amount of weight. Best feature for our use is the adjustable height and the ability to make an incredibly sturdy work table...... worth every penny.

I've got a tiny set of 2 Wen folding saw horses that I bought back around 1985. They still work like new. Don't know if the company is still the same, quality of products these days, etc.. but every time I use them I wonder why they lasted so long.

They are almost identical to the Harbor Freight ones that are still sold today. In fact, I probably got them mail order from Harbor Freight back then, along with some air tools that still work.

Earlier this summer a neighbor was throwing away a bunch of light steel, old temp garage frames, some kind of trampoline frame, a pergola, etc. Anyway, I claimed all of this and managed to make a couple sawhorses to replace some wooden ones that were on their last legs (you should pardon the pun). The round kickers were from a foldable camp chair that had failed, so the only material costs was the consumables to cut and weld them up. Even the paint was from moving cleanouts. They are quite light, you can lift them easily with two fingers, but they're incredibly stiff and would probably hold more than I'd be comfortable piling on.
