Steering wheel broke on my X500

Looks like it was molded with a gas-assisted injection molding process. It is a way of molding very thick sections while keeping the weight and cost down by injecting pressurized gas to hollow our the center. Allows for faster cycle times and you don't get horrible sink marks like you typically do in very thick sections. I'd chalk it up to a molding defect.

Agreed. Hard to see in the pic if the cross section showed any abnormal porosity but that would be my guess.

No steering wheel problems with my X500. FWIW put a steering knob on mine and it made steering much easier.

I thought the steering knob was a gimmick until I put one on! I use subconsciously all the time.

I have a knob on my Kubota. With the X500 I can just use the palm of my hand.
