steering wheel knobs

Does anyone know where I can find steering wheel knob for my tractor.

I bought one from harbor freight about three years ago still
works ok on my wheel horse for about $4.00. I just bought a heavy duty one for my 790 Deere at the JD dealer about $10.00.

Any tractor dealer close to you should have those spinners in stock. I put one on my tractor and although it definitely wasn't necessary - I love that thing. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If the steering on your tractor is as loose as mine is it doesn't matter /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

(Mine is at 9 o'clock because that leaves my right hand free to operate the FEL)

I put mine on the left hand side of the steering wheel (like 9:00) since I need my right hand free to operate the position control or the loader control.

Both of mine are at about 7:30 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Like Tdenny said, that leaves the right hand for FEL and 3PH operation. At that location, it is not so far away from the right hand. There are times like on a sidehill or when I want to look around to the left that I steer right-handed.

My in-laws had a Nasty Ferguson (265 or something) that didn't have a direct mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the steering linkage. It was annoying to have the location of the knob constantly change while operating the tractor.

My one tractor doesn't have power steering, and a couple weeks ago the left front tire hit something it couldn't roll over. I didn't have a good grip on the spinner (aka "suicide knob") and in about .3 nanoseconds it whipped around and smacked my hand pretty hard..................chim
