Stihl Hasn't Been Used for Years - What to Do Before Starting?

/ Stihl Hasn't Been Used for Years - What to Do Before Starting? #11
For any engine that hasn't been started for a long time, remove the spark plug and turn it over very slowly by hand a few times. The reason is to allow any moving parts that may be stuck (due to 'sticky' oil or grease) to free themselves up at very low revs before you stick the boot in, so to speak. This is especially important on 4 strokes that have no clearance between the top of the piston and an extended valve.
